Alexandra Orchard in Colorado Springs, CO has been working hard to bring the message of placenta for postpartum recovery to her community since moving there this spring, and now has the experience and additional training necessary to gain the title of Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist®.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Alex here in Las Vegas before she moved. She accompanied me on several client calls and was trained personally by me, so I know that she is passionate about her work with expectant and postpartum women.
It is one thing to say that placentophagy is helpful for women in the postpartum period, but it is another thing to back that statement up with sound research. I loved the course because it helped me understand the issues surrounding placentophagy as well as how to create placenta capsules using traditional techniques. When I began my work as a specialist, I was surprised to face skepticism and even some criticism. Armed with the research I summarized during training, I was able to gain support and understanding. I was also well prepared for presenting the idea of placentophagy to various groups curious about my services. Jodi has created a training program that is well-rounded and acknowledges that in order to make placenta encapsulation acceptable, we have to educate the public. To do that intelligently, we need to support our claims with sound research. Thank you, Jodi, for working so hard for women, babies and families!!! I am proud to be a part of PBi !
