I was contacted recently by a woman on the East coast with a sad story. Her midwife had told her that the placenta would be beneficial for her postpartum recovery, yet did not send her to PlacentaBenefits.info for more information, or tell her much about it. She was told to just put the placenta out and “spread it around”, that it would dry on its own. The midwife gave her my information at several days postpartum when she expressed concern that things were not going well with the placenta. Unfortunately, by the time she called me, the placenta was ruined for encapsulation.
Please – if you support placentophagy and placenta encapsulation, please give out the link to PlacentaBenefits.info. Placenta capsules are easy to make, but there IS a proper method and process for best results. Given the rare and sacred nature of placentas, each one deserves to be prepared honorably and accurately. Each mother deserves her best chance for a happy, healthy postpartum experience. Let’s not let another placenta go to waste.
