Katherine Scalf, serving Louisville, KY, has recently completed her work to become a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist® through PBi. Katherine is the mother of two children and became interested in natural childbirth after the birth of her son in 2009. This interest ultimately led to her becoming a trained childbirth educator and doula through CAPPA. Katherine began researching placenta encapsulation during her second pregnancy and after her daughter was born, she was amazed at the results she received from her placenta capsules. Katherine claims her postpartum experiences between her two children was like night and day. She felt better both physically and emotionally and attributes it all to her placenta capsules. She knew that this was something she needed to share with the women in her community. She became trained through Placenta Benefits, and has recently started her own postpartum support business, Embrace After Birth.
“I decided that I had to offer this service to women in my area – new moms have to know about this perfect, customized “magic” pill that can make postpartum experiences much more enjoyable and much less overwhelming. The research promoting the benefits of placenta encapsulation is undeniable, and I want to spread the word.”
