I started PBi after my own experience with placentophagy back in 2005. I had a hard time finding information about the benefits of placenta, and I wanted to make it easy for other mothers to use placenta capsules for their postpartum recovery. We had such a great response that I created the Placenta Encapsulation Specialist Training Program in 2007, so other providers could learn how to properly and safely prepare placentas for the women in their communities. Since that time, PBi has trained over 200 Specialists across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and all the way to South Korea and Australia. The PBi website has grown tremendously, and receives over 250,000 hits every month as of June 2011.
I couldn't do this work without the wonderful team of volunteers that help me run PBi, and help our Specialists get the resources they need to help mothers. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful team of women helping PBi grow, and spreading the joy of placenta around the world! Besides my work with mothers, Specialists, PBi, and placenta research, I am also a mother to three beautiful little girls who are my whole world.

After experiencing the positive benefits of consuming my placenta pills, I knew that I wanted to encapsulate placentas for other women so that they could experience the benefits themselves. I chose PBi for the training and certification program because PBi offered a safe, professional training course as well as a support system for running my new business. PBi is an amazing company that just keeps growing and it is an honor to be apart of something that helps mothers in a real, tangible way. I have learned so much through being a part of PBi as a specialist and mentor, not just from the training, but from being connected to other placenta encapsulation specialists. Singularly we all have little pieces of the puzzle, but you put our experiences together and the body of knowledge is vast!

VP of Operations, U.S.
I encapsulated my first placenta in 2008, for my sister. As a doula, I now use this knowledge to help both my clients and others. I started volunteering for Placenta Benefits in December of 2009. The more I learned about PBi and Jodi, the more I learned about her passion and commitment to the placenta movement; the enthusiasm was catching. As a government contractor web developer/usability analyst by day, I wanted to use my skills to help promote the a cause I really believe in. I enjoy helping set up new specialists in PBi and helping them get started in their businesses. I love to be able to answer questions and occasionally write a blog post or two. I believe in the Placenta Movement I want to see it succeed to benefit the 80% of all women who experience the Baby Blues. I really enjoy helping PBi move placenta encapsulation into a more mainstream practice.

Kylie has been a volunteer with PBi since early 2011. She is a Doula and massage therapist and has a background as a paediatric Speech and Language Pathologist. She was keen to help bring PBi to the UK so that there was more choice for where to train in placenta encapsulation and more choice for mothers who would like their placenta encapsulated. Kylie's mission is to increase awareness about the benefits of placenta and to provide a highly professional service which can assist new mothers in their postpartum recovery. In addition to volunteering with PBi, Kylie is has also been a volunteer with Doula UK for the last two years.

Angela began her time with Placenta Benefits in 2008 as an encapsulation trainee. She has volunteered for PBi technical roles through the years, first as Course Administrator and currently as the Web Administrator. She continues to follow her passion of helping new moms by encapsulating and also with web technology to increase accessibility to those who search for a specialist and seek valuable placenta information. Angela believes in the mission to bring safe, professional encapsulation to communities as a normal complement to each mother's postpartum recovery. She finds great joy in helping the movement and working among others who feel the same. She is a devoted mother to four children ages 3-14 and enjoys the beach, golfing, skating, photography, sewing, painting, and tending to her pets including cavies.

My name is McKenzie Casad, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have a private practice as a psychotherapist working with adults, couples, adolescents, and children, with a special interest in mothers and infants. Through post-graduate work with infants and mothers, I began working with women who had experienced post-partum depression and/or anxiety, which led me to placenta encapsulation.
I wanted to become more involved with PBI as a staff member to support placenta encapsulation specialists, the message and growth of the organization. I was most interested in connecting with new applicants and helping them navigate the beginnings of their training and be here to assist once they were on the ground running. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the PBi staff and meet the amazing individuals brining this wonderful service to women around the world.

I was first introduced to placenta encapsulation in an internet search while I was researching ways to avoid the baby blues. I was pregnant for the second time and desperately wanted to have an enjoyable, happy, and balanced postpartum experience. I hired a PBi Placenta Encapsulation Specialist to encapsulate my baby's placenta and immediately became a believer in the power of placentophagia. In those first few weeks postpartum, I knew in my heart this was something I was being called to do.
I volunteer for Placenta Benefits because I firmly believe every women deserves to have a joyous postpartum experience without the baby blues, anxiety, or depression. I became the PBi Blogger in February of 2012 and use the blog as a vehicle to spread the word about the benefits of placenta encapsulation, research, and news related to postpartum health and women's issues. I am proud to be involved with PBi and I am honored to be a part of this movement.
I live in Baltimore, MD with my husband, Pablo and our two sons.

As Jodi's mother, I am very happy to help out. I enjoy answering emails about products in our Shop, chatting with customers, and getting everyone their orders. It keeps me very busy, and I love being involved. I know that the placenta has helped Jodi tremendously as a mother, and I just wish I had known about it when I was having my babies! |
