Placenta Encapsulation Course Launches Nationwide
The launch of the Placenta Encapsulation Certification & Training Course was met with wonderful enthusiasm from women around the country. There will soon be Placenta Encapsulation Specialists in 13 states, and this is just a few short weeks after introducing the program! Placenta encapsulation is going to become more and more popular as these Specialists share their services with their communities. Having performed the placenta encapsulation services for years in my own community, I know how gratifying it is on a personal level. It is a wonderful gift to work with mothers and their families.

The main reasons I love being a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist:
Stay home with my kids, yet still contribute to our family's income
Manage my own successful work-at-home-mom business
Stay connected with the natural birth community - I can't be a doula or a midwife (yet!), but I can still play a special role in the birth year
Talk to women about their birth and postpartum experiences
Get to know my clients on a personal level - many of my former clients are my current close friends
My work takes me away from home for very short periods of time
Hearing client stories of how much placenta capsules have helped them have a better mothering experience

Spreading the Word

Timely Topics in Childbirth
On June 4, I had the wonderful opportunity to be on Celesta Rannisi's Timely Topics in Childbirth internet radio show. It was such an honor to be invited to discuss placenta encapsulation with Ms. Rannisi and her audience, and I had so much fun! If you missed it, you can listen to the MP3 here.

BabyTime Expo

PBi had a booth at the BabyTime Expo June 14-15, and we had a wonderful, warm reception from the crowd. Even though I had been unexpectedly called out of state for the event, four amazing women volunteered to wo-man the booth for PBi in my absence. They are all former clients, passionate about sharing the information
and their personal experiences with other mothers. To say I am grateful for their dedication and hard work would be a gross understatement. Our booth had women standing "three deep" to talk to them, and they even had vendors from other booths come over to ask what our secret was to getting so many people over at our table! Fabulous.

Fun Summer Recipe
This is one of my favorite ways to get extra greens into my kids, and they LOVE smoothies. There are many variations of this, so feel free to experiment - they all taste great! I admit, I don't measure everything out exactly, so use the measurements as a guide and adjust to your own taste. I love this too, because I can freeze the fruit and greens, and use whenever. Thanks to Jenn for the original inspiration for this concoction.

Green Smoothie
1/2 - 1 cup water
1- 2 cups fresh (or frozen) spinach
4 strawberries (frozen)
1 banana (frozen)
2 mango pieces (frozen)
Put everything in a blender. Use at least 1/2 cup water to start, and then add more later if necessary. Less water gives a thicker smoothie. Blend until smooth, and enjoy! You can also freeze these in popsicle molds for tasty Green Pops.
