I am a DONA certified doula, placenta encapsulation specialist, wife, foodie and female nomad!
I began my journey into birth works when I traveled to Egypt and India as a volunteer birth attendant. I was equipped with midwifery skills, heaps of expectation and love for pregnant women. In India, I worked in a government maternity hospital alongside a team of talented, beautiful volunteers. I caught over 40 infants, and developed a strong calling to serve women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum.
When I returned home, I met and married my charming husband 13 months later. As time progressed, I felt a strong pull back into the field of perinatal education. Thanks to the firm and continual support of my husband, I pursued those dreams (and still am!). I have a desire to help women have their best birth, intent on education and advocacy. Through my doula certification with DONA, I started researching other avenues of service, specifically in the postpartum period.
Placenta encapsulation caught my attention, because it is nourishing, creative and incredibly helpful to women in the postpartum! Studying the benefits of placentophagy left me in awe, and I can't stop telling mothers to be about the wonderful benefits of their own placenta: more milk, more energy, more peace, more nourishment. The more I study, the more I am convinced of the healing qualities of the placenta. I am honoured to be of service to women in Vancouver, BC, where placenta encapsulation is becoming increasingly popular as Vancouverites recognize the importance of a healthy postpartum period!
