Leigh Anne is the owner of Nourishing Origins and
specializes in Maternal & Pediatric Nutrition and
Wellness. Her passion to provide quality natural
wellness care to mothers and children and educate
parents on living a natural wellness based lifestyle
comes from her own personal experience with natural
wellness based living and how it helped her overcome
fertility issues, conceive, and ultimately have a very
healthy and happy family that is rarely ever ill.
Leigh Anne discovered her passion for maternal and pediatric nutrition and
wellness through her own personal experience and her work as a massage therapist
doing prenatal massage, doula work, and infant massage since 2003. In 2006,
Leigh Anne began her studies at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas.
Leigh Anne completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Anatomy from Parker in
April of 2009. She is currently working on her Master of Science Degree in Human
Nutrition with specialization in maternal and pediatric nutrition from the
University of Bridgeport.
Leigh Anne has always been a nutritionist at heart and loves to learn about
whole food nutrition. So in 2003, she began researching nutrition for fertility,
preconception, pregnancy, postpartum healing and recovery, and lactation. This
eventually led her into pediatric nutrition as she became a Certified
Breastfeeding Educator and Counselor in 2007. In 2007, Leigh Anne also began
learning all there is to learn about Baby-Led Weaning through self study and
research. Leigh Anne is now considered the leader in the Holistic approach to
Baby-Led Weaning and educates parents and interested individuals in Holistic
Baby-Led Weaning.
Then in 2008, when her oldest was 21 months old Leigh Anne discovered
placenta encapsulation and the Placenta Benefits website and immediately knew
that this was the missing link to her postpartum nutritional care for moms.
Wishing she had known about this before her oldest was born so she could have
utilized it herself, Leigh Anne became trained and certified as a Placenta
Encapsulation Specialist and is now an advocate for mothers in the Dallas and
Fort Worth areas of Texas for their rights to receive their placenta postpartum
and to utilize it as a nutritional supplement to help in their postpartum
healing and recovery. Leigh Anne now teaches workshops throughout the Dallas /
Fort Worth Metroplex on maternal and postpartum nutrition and the benefits of
placenta encapsulation, as well as pediatric nutrition.
