Hello! My name is Lauren Agro and I am the
mother of a fantastic son, born in 2002. He is the
inspiration for everything I do. My Doula and dear friend mentored me and encouraged my interest in the field
of childbirth. With her help, I became a DONA certified
labor doula in 2003.
My personal childbirth experience was unmedicated, thanks to my doula and a fantastic midwife.
What I learned was that labor was easy as compared to
the hard work of being a new mom. I also discovered that
going through a divorce by the time your child is 19 months old doesn't
help postpartum depression much either. I truly
understand all the all the ups and downs of pregnancy,
childbirth and that difficult postpartum period. Oh how I
wished I'd known about PBi back then!
I became interested in placenta encapsulation in early
2008 when I read about it online. I
happened to mention it to my sister when she became
pregnant and she soon asked me to fly from Baltimore to
Idaho to prepare her baby's placenta as my first
certification encapsulation. With Jodi's help, I was
honored to get the opportunity to help my sister in such a
special way. Her results were very positive and she showed no signs of baby blues or post partum depression.
My day job has me working to help make websites easier for people to use as a
Usability Specialist for a large government agency. I am also a professional
photographer; co-owning a family photography company. My other
hobbies include learning, reading, concert going,
doula-ing, home improvements and scuba diving. I live in northern Carroll County with my son and incredibly supportive, brand new husband.
I look forward to using all of my
placenta knowledge to help you avoid those baby
blues and have an emotionally-sound, energetic, and
joyous postpartum period. My hope is that in utilizing
what nature has given you, you can become the best mommy
you can be ~ naturally.
